velocity hockey development

The goal in our training is simply to create smarter, more effective hockey players. We will teach the athletes great depth about a variety of skills, for a deeper understanding of how best to utilize these skills and become a more efficient player overall.

There will be a variety of skills we focus on, but they will stem from these main themes:

• SKATING - straightaway speed, tight turns, crossovers, open stance, transitions, etc. 
• HOCKEY IQ - shoulder checking, communication, scanning, timing, decision-making, fakes, etc.
• SHOOTING - quick release, one-timers, tips, deflections, shooting technique refinement, etc.
• PASSING - passing technique, one-touch passes, receptions, backhands, etc.
• STICKHANDLING - wrist extension & utilization, stick fakes, puck placement, dekes, etc.
• BATTLE/TACTICAL - body positioning, puck protection, retrieving pucks, offensive positioning, etc.
• DEFENCE - breakout passes, defending in-zone & off the rush, stopping rims, point shots, etc.

Every clinic will be fast-paced, intense and fun. But we will have a focus for every class that is sure to help players of all ages and all skill levels improve immensely in a variety of ways. The classes will be as much about teaching & learning as they will be about pace and speed.
