Meet the head coach
Ryan Handfield
Ryan has been working in the hockey world for well over a decade, coaching over twenty teams across a variety of calibers and age groups. He created Velocity Hockey Development in 2014, fueled by a passion to help players in Montreal improve as much as they can. Ryan believes on-ice trainings should be as much about teaching & learning as they are about pace and speed, and designs his Velocity sessions around skills that are directly transferable to game situations. He trains players of all ages and skills levels with a variety of sessions offered, including Velocity Skills and Defenceman courses.
He's known as a passionate coach, a strong communicator and someone who tries to get the most he can out of every player on the team. He currently coaches with the Montreal-based NPU Rebels.
